FARM DAY

Farming

The new Miller Farm consists of a community garden in which students and members of the Richmond community can farm in their own ways. Each participating group has a plot in the garden where they can experiment different agricultural methods and grow unique crops they like.

Farm Day and Open Hours

House residents host a Farm Day every Saturday in the morning. Farm Day is a community work day in which we forget about busy school work and return to the nature. The aim is to engage more people in sustainable agriculture and share the joy of farming with a wider community. Each Farm Day has its own theme. Past farm days we had high tunnel building, harvesting, fall cleaning, cold frame, and alumni reunion. After a morning of farm work, we will usually have lunch together. Any one and everyone in the Richmond Community is welcomed!

Apart from Saturday Farm Day, we also have open hours every Thursday from 4 pm - 6 pm. Everyone is welcome to join us for a tour and/or do regular farm work with us.
